Nihangs steal the show with Gatka in Fatehgarh Sahib

FATEHGARH SAHIB: The three-day annual Shaheedi Jor Mela concluded on Monday amid religious fervor. A Nagar Kirtan led by Panj Pyaras was taken out from Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib to Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib. Braving the cold weather conditions, a large number of devotees from various parts of the country and abroad paid obeisance.

The three-day annual Shaheedi Jor Mela concluded on Monday amid religious fervor.

A Nagar Kirtan led by Panj Pyaras was taken out from Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib to Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib 

Jathedar Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar Patna Sahib Giani Iqbal Singh, SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar, Golden Temple head priest Jagtar Singh, Damdami Taksal head Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa and Budha Dal head Baba Balbir Singh were among those participated

Braving the cold weather conditions, a large number of devotees from various parts of the country and abroad paid obeisance 

School bands, gatka teams, Nihangs, kirtani jathas, Sukhmani Sahib Sewa Societies, students of Mata Gujri College, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University and Akal Academy Baru Sahib took part in various activities

Representatives of various other religions, social and political parties also participated in the Nagar Kirtan

The main attraction was the traditional martial arts "gatka" displayed by Nihangs and gatka teams
