Panjab University will offer the Chair to be set up in the honour of hockey legend Balbir Singh Senior to Olympics gold medallist Abhinav Bindra. To motivate students, the authorities will invite him to interact with sports persons on the campus. The proposal for the approval of the Chair will be tabled in the coming syndicate meeting on October 8.

A committee has drafted the proposal, which will be in the domain of the Department of Sports and Physical Education.

As per the report of the committee, the members felt that Abhinav Bindra’s achievements would motivate the sports fraternity, faculty and students of Panjab University.
