NSG team inspects Polytechnic College ground for copter landing

SUNDERNAGAR: A team of NSG officials, along with DC, Mandi, Sandeep Kadam, SDM Sundernagar, Rajiv Kumar, today inspected the ground of Government Polytechnic College here where two helicopters of the crew of the Prime Minister may land during the PM’s scheduled visit on October 18 .

SUNDERNAGAR, October 15

A team of NSG officials, along with DC, Mandi, Sandeep Kadam, SDM Sundernagar, Rajiv Kumar, today inspected the ground of Government Polytechnic College here where two helicopters of the crew of the Prime Minister may land during the PM’s scheduled visit on October 18 .

The team issued certain directions such as removing of certain objects from the ground, lopping of eucalyptus trees surrounding the ground so that the vision may be clear while landing and further suggested two spots for the landing of helicopters. Officials also issued instructions to the police to cover the surrounding areas and deployed officials on the roof top of the surrounding buildings.

The administration got information yesterday that the helicopters of the crew may land at Government Polytechnic College ground. The preparations were started and many rooms in the office of the Director of Technical Education adjoining the ground were vacated, the buildings of the Technical Directorate were whitewashed. The repair was started on the stretch between Sundernagar and Mandi which was in bad conditions due to ongoing construction of four-laning of Kiratpur-Manali road.
