Pushpa Devi is Kangra BDC chief

KANGRA: Pushpa Devi, a resident of Sahoura village, was elected chairperson of the Kangra Block Development Samiti.

Kangra, January 28

Pushpa Devi, a resident of Sahoura village, was elected chairperson of the Kangra Block Development Samiti. She defeated Vijay Kumari by one vote in the polls held today. Pushpa was supported by local MLA Pawan Kajal.

Kamal Jeet was elected vice-chairman after defeating Raman Kumar, former vice-chairman, by a margin of two votes.

Pawan Kajal MLA said this was the victory of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. He said many Congress leaders did not want the victory of his supporters.
