PWD employee dies removing debris

CHAMBA: A beldar of the Public Works Department (PWD) was killed when he was removing debris following a landslip near Chaled Dhar on the Bharmour-Grima link road and the retaining wall abruptly sank downside the hill due to downpour yesterday, a report said here today.

A beldar of the Public Works Department (PWD) was killed when he was removing debris following a landslip near Chaled Dhar on the Bharmour-Grima link road and the retaining wall abruptly sank downside the hill due to downpour yesterday, a report said here today.

The report said the body of the deceased, identified as Safro Ram, had been retrieved from the gorge by the police with the help of local residents.

The victim’s body had been handed over to his legal heirs after a postmortem, at the hospital, the report added.
