Former minister and Congress leader Sampat Singh today accused Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar of entrusting the functioning of the government to RSS workers and sought immediate removal of these workers from the government.

Reacting to the proposal to take the services of private consultants for better treasury management, the Congress leader said here today that it seemed another ploy by the government to set in more RSS persons in the system of governance.

“It is another ruse to hire more RSS ‘front companies’ to run the government in the name of making assessments about the possible interest rates for future on loans and returns from various short-term securities,” he alleged, adding that the state treasury was already well managed. He said that management of interest rates was not the responsibility of the treasury, but a job of the Finance Department.

He alleged that around 34 RSS men, including 24 belonging to other states, had been positioned in the office and residence of the Chief Minister at the cost of public exchequer.

“They are drawing heavy salaries and other facilities. Hundreds of posts, which were never heard earlier, have been created to oblige the RSS bosses based in Nagpur,” he added.

Singh said that RSS workers had been working as OSDs, ADCs, Political Advisers, caretaker of all secret assignments, Pas and PSs.

He said that 21 fresh graduate engineers and business managers who had been appointed as Good Governance Associates also belonged to the RSS. In addition, one RSS worker had been forcibly appointed in the personal staff of each minister to keep a watch on the ministers’ activities, he alleged. “The monitoring and vigilance committees from gram panchayat to the state level had been loaded with RSS workers,” he said.
