Dehradun, May 24

SN Sachan, state president, Samajwadi Party (SP), said the central BJP leadership had conspired to topple the Congress-led state government in Uttarakhand. Both parties were responsible for the political turmoil experienced in the state for nearly more than a month.

Sachan, while addressing mediapersons at the party office here today, said the SP would field its most experienced and popular candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections, scheduled for January 2017. The party could join hands with the Congress, if required, to form the government in the state.

The CBI should draft a plan to grill politicians who were named in the CD sting in which leaders were shown procuring MLAs to save the Congress Government in Uttarakhand, Sachan said.

He said SP activists would take out a “Mulayam Sandesh Yatra” to sensitise voters about the party’s ideology. The first phase of the yatra would be flagged off by Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister SS Saini on May 26 in Dehradun.

Party activists would do intense touring of the remote areas of Dehradun and Rishikesh from May 26 to 28, while residents of Haridwar and Roorkee would be sensitised from May 29 to 31. The activists would visit Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts from June 1 to 3 and June 4 to 6, respectively, he added.
