Dehradun, December 15

The security awareness week began at the ONGC here today. Suresh Jandial, GGM-Chief HRD, was the chief guest on the occasion. He pointed out the vulnerability of assets, especially the latent assets such as information in the cyber space and intellectual property. He said protecting these assets were crucial.

He highlighted the sacrifice done by the security personnel during the parliament attack.

He said security systems acted as enablers in an organisation’s overall setup. ER Baijnath, GGM-Head, discussed the three aspects of security i.e. personal, physical and cyber space security that were paramount in today’s challenging security paradigm.

He said there was a need to identify all the assets through a robust security architecture that should be able to withstand any attack and be able to recover and restore in the original form in the shortest possible time.

A booklet on do’s and don’ts for security ‘Suraksha Kavach’ was released on the occasion.

IVS Dagur, in charge, security, Dehradun, reminded everyone about the attack on the parliament on December, 13, 2001, by militants. He said it was the responsibility of everyone to play an active role in the security.

He also informed that during the week long awareness programme, several programmes had been lined up which includes essay competition for employees, poster and slogan competition, mock drill in colony, quiz competition, security sensitisation in the form of talks, special drive on access control and dog show.
