Two persons were killed while 10 policemen injured in a major accident on the Haridwar-Najibabad Highway near Chidiyapur here today.
All injured were from the Uttar Pradesh Police Department and were travelling in a Qualis car from Haridwar to Najibabad.
The accident took place when their Qualis car collided with an Alto car coming from the opposite direction.
Two persons travelling in the car died on the spot while 10 police personnel got injured.
The deceased have been identified as Mahendra, a resident of Qureshi Mohalla, Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh, and Ritesh, a resident of Mohalla Batti, Amroha, Uttar Pradesh.
The injured police personnel have been identified as Ajay Rastogi, Pramod, Raj Singh, Sohan, Veer, Babu Ram, Vishal, Amit and Abhimanyu.
