Undertrial escapes from Nalagarh court

SOLAN: Sunil Kumar, who was undergoing trial in a murder case, fled from the Nalagarh court around 3:15 pm today where he was taken for the case’s hearing.

Sunil Kumar, who was undergoing trial in a murder case, fled from the Nalagarh court around 3:15 pm today where he was taken for the case’s hearing.

Inspector General (IG), South Range, ZH Zaidi said Sunil was undergoing trial in a case of murder and dacoity. He was lodged in the Solan jail.

A team of 12 policemen were accompanying seven undertrials for being produced before the Nalagarh court with constable Kuldeep Kumar having been entrusted the task to guard Sunil Kumar.

Kuldeep Kumar claims that he splashed something into his eyes and used his phone to call someone and fled the spot, the IG said.

Kuldeep Kumar has been placed under suspension and the incident would be inquired into.
