JIND: After getting a complaint of improper medical examination by the civil hospital authorities at Jind on Tuesday morning, the police once again got the medical examination of a dalit woman done today.

 Jind, March 14

After getting a complaint of improper medical examination by the civil hospital authorities at Jind on Tuesday morning, the police once again got the medical examination of a dalit woman done today.

She was allegedly gang-raped by six persons on the intervening night of March 9-10 in the fields of Kandela village. The police registered a rape case against six persons, four of whom have been arrested, while two are still at large.

“After getting the complaint, we once again got her medical examination done from a special medical board of three doctors. The board conducted a detailed medical examination of the victim at the Jind civil hospital today,” said Jind civil surgeon Deepa Jakhar.

On Thursday, when members of National Commission for Scheduled Caste (NCSC) Ishwar Singh visited, the victim alleged her medical examination was not conducted properly.

The NCSC member assured the victim that the commission would send a notice

to the Jind civil surgeon and if they did not get a satisfactory reply, they would initiate action against

the Jind Health Department authorities. — TNS
