With 37th rank, Bahadurgarh resident Ankur Kaushik has cracked the UPSC exam, the result of which was declared on Friday. This was Ankur’s second attempt. Though he had cleared the exam in 2016 also, his rank was 485th. He joined the Indian Railway Traffic Service, but kept preparing to achieve his childhood dream of becoming an IAS officer.

“Ankur was so serious towards his goal that he took leave for a year from the Railways. He has always been a brilliant student. He topped his school in matriculation and senior secondary exams. Thereafter, he pursued BTech from Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, Delhi,” said Subhash Kaushik, Ankur’s father, who is a manager at a chemical factory in Bahadurgarh.

He said before clearing the UPSC exam in 2016, Ankur had cracked the combined graduate-level test and joined the Customs Department for three months. At present, he was undergoing training at the IRTS in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Geeta Devi, Ankur’s mother, said she was very proud of her son.
