A senior doctor at the Gurgaon civil hospital has moved the police accusing Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr BK Rajaura of regularly harassing and bullying her in connivance with a senior bureaucrat. An FIR has been registered against Dr Rajaura at the women’s police station (west) in Sector 15 under Sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation). After taking cognisance of her complaint, the State Woman Commission has written to DGP Haryana to look into it.

“It started in 2013-14 when I was State Public Information Officer at the hospital. As per my duty, I furnished some information sought under RTI. The CMO humiliated me in his office and threw a file at my face. He then sent me on deputation to Farrukhnagar community health centre despite the fact that I am supposed to undergo regular chemo sessions in Gurugram. “I went there and came back after completing my deputation. He was posted in Faridabad then. When he came back here four months ago, he sent me out on deputation again,” the victim said in her complaint.

Dr Rajaura denied the allegations saying that the doctor in question allegedly indulged in frequent insubordination, inefficiency and mudslinging.

“The doctor was found leaking official information, instigating and hiring people to file RTIs and malign the department’s image. There have been repeated complaints of non-performance against her not just from the hospital but also the centre of her deputation. None of the inquiries, be it by the ADC or even the women’s commission, found me guilty of any sexual misconduct,” said Dr Rajaura.

Both parties will be questioned tomorrow by the police.
