Kurukshetra, December 3

In a show of strength to challenge his estranged uncle and INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala, MP Dushyant Chautala convened a rally of party workers at the New Grain market here on Monday.

Abhay had launched his ‘Jan adhikar yatra’ from Jyotisar, near here, on Saturday. It will cover the entire state by February 17.

Today’s meeting was organised by Jai Bhagwan Sharma, who had recently quit the BJP as a state executive committee member. Sharma has expressed his desire to contest from the Thanesar Assembly segment.

In a veiled attack on Abhay, Dushyant said his family members hadbeen maltreated.

Dushyant said the political party that was yet to be named was getting support from all quarters.

The Hisar MP flayed the INLD leadership for spreading rumours that he was contemplating joining hands with the BJP.

Without naming Abhay, he said INLD leaders were upset over support being extended to his father Ajay Singh Chautala by party workers and were “conspiring” to weaken the splinter group that was being held in Jind on December 9.

Dushyant said the new political front would follow the ideology of the late Devi Lal. Dushyant announced to donate a silver mace, gifted by Sharma, to a temple at Jyotisar.
