INLD MLA raises pitch for farmers

Chandigarh, March 12

Julana MLA Parminder Singh Dhull today protested outside the Vidhan Sabha premises against the ‘injustice’ being meted out to farmers of his constituency on account of crop damage due to waterlogging in 2017 and hail and whitefly in 2015.

The INLD member was protesting the rejection of his motion on the issue. Carrying a chart showing pictures of crop damage and waterlogged fields, he reached the House before the session. The police asked him to leave the premises and protest outside.

Demanding Rs30,000 per acre as compensation, Dhull alleged the government had been ignoring farmers’ interests. — TNS
