Man nabbed with fake notes

AMBALA: A police team recovered fake currency from a house in Patiala on Friday night and arrested a person.

A police team recovered fake currency from a house in Patiala on Friday night and arrested a person. The accused has been identified as Gurvinder Singh.

Sources said the police had recovered Rs 52,200 in fake notes, printer, scanner and copier from Patiala during a raid. The police had arrested Harpreet Singh, a resident of Patiala, and recovered Rs 13,200 in fake currency from him on Thursday. The accused had reached Ambala to push the fake currency in the market.

During questioning, Harpreet revealed that Gurvinder was also involved in this racket. Acting on the information, a raid was conducted at Gurvinder’s house.

A police spokesman said total Rs 65,400 in fake currency had been seized from both of the accused. The fake currency was in the denomination of Rs 100.
