KURUKSHETRA: The police have registered a case under the Child Marriage Prohibition Act against persons on Friday.



Kurukshetra, April 19

The police have registered a case under the Child Marriage Prohibition Act against persons on Friday. The suspects are Ravinder, Sant Ram, Kuldeep Singh and Manjeet Kaur.

Child Marriage Protection Officer Savita Rana, in her complaint to the police, said: “We received information that Sant Ram had solemnised the marriage of his son Ravinder with Kuldeep Singh’s minor daughter on March 23. Sant Ram claimed that the girl was sent back to her parent’s house after he came to know that she was a minor. She will be brought back once she attains the age of 18.”

Manjeet Kaur is the aunt of the minor girl. — TNS
