Teachers protest waste dumping near varsity

SONEPAT: Members of the Teachers’ Association and Ministerial Staff Welfare Association (MSWA) of DCR University of Science and Technology, Murthal, along with students on Friday protested against dumping of garbage near the university by the Sonepat Municipal Corporation.

Members of the Teachers’ Association and Ministerial Staff Welfare Association (MSWA) of DCR University of Science and Technology, Murthal, along with students on Friday protested against dumping of garbage near the university by the Sonepat Municipal Corporation.

Teachers’ Association president Dr Dinesh Singh and MSWA president Anand Rana said around 4,000 students, including inmates of seven hostels, and families of 180 staff members were facing the problems of air pollution and breeding of mosquitoes and flies due to dumping and burning of the waste and garbage. — OC
