Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu on Saturday said that national politics would witness a big change after the 2019 elections and the Congress and other “family” parties entangled in dynasty politics would have to put an end to the trend.

Addressing a press conference here, the BJP leader alleged that voting for the Congress was “akin to supporting terrorism”. He said the Congress leaders were running away from the elections. He also launched a veiled attack on former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son and local Congress MP Deepender.

“In the forthcoming elections, people of Haryana will sweep out those who got the state burnt as part of a political conspiracy,” he said. Advising Deepender not to be arrogant as “he had to go a long way in politics”, Abhimanyu said the previous elections for the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat had been won by the then Congress government and not Deepender.

Asked till when the Jat violence would remain an issue, the minister said, “It will remain etched in memory of those who witnessed it and suffered, just like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.”

Questioned about the action taken against the perpetrators of violence, Abhimanyu said the CBI, courts and other law-enforcement agencies were doing their job and people who held the supreme power in a democratic set-up would teach them a befitting lesson in the elections.

Replying to a question about the delay in announcing the BJP candidates for the Rohtak and Hisar seats, the saffron party leader said a special strategy was being chalked out for the seats.

Responding to another query, the BJP leader said the INLD had been finished while the JJP and AAP had joined hands in a bid to save the security deposits of their candidates.
