Car falls into Chamera lake, untraced

A car fell into Chamera lake in Salooni of Chamba district today. The district administration’s efforts to locate the car was of no avail.

Sources here said divers from the Chamera project were summoned. They tried twice to locate the car but in vain.

Chamba DC Vivek Bhatia said locals had noticed the car falling into the lake but nobody could give information about the occupants of the car. “We are trying to gather information from CCTV cameras but nothing has been established so far,” he said. Salooni SDM Vijay Kumar said they tried to ascertain a number of vehicles from the CCTV cameras and NHPC barrier. However, no conclusion could be drawn. The search operation had been called off for the day and would be resumed tomorrow, he said.
