DC’s vehicle challaned for flouting traffic norms

PALAMPUR: The local police on Sunday issued a challan to the official vehicle of the Kangra Deputy Commissioner for violating a one-way traffic rule.

Palampur, March 17

The local police on Sunday issued a challan to the official vehicle of the Kangra Deputy Commissioner for violating a one-way traffic rule.

Sources said the DC was not travelling in the car and the police had named the driver in the challan.

It is learnt that the wrong entry by the VVIP vehicle led to a massive traffic jam and commuters clicked the pictures, which later went viral on the social media. This forced the police to issue a challan after 24-hour of the incident.

Confirming this, SDM, Palampur, Pankaj Sharma said the challan had been issued under the Motor Vehicles Act.— OC
