Shimla, April 22

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday said going digital would help various departments deliver better and transparent services.

On the occasion of 12th Civil Services Day, the Chief Minister inaugurated the online registration portal for the Himachal Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), which will ease the process of making registration and nomination of trainees. The Department of Training through HIPA has developed the online portal with the NIC as the technical agency for facilitating trainees.

“Civil servants play a pivotal role in the democratic set-up and help run the government efficiently,” said Thakur. He also exhorted officials to ensure that the work scheduled for today should not be postponed for tomorrow.

He appreciated the new initiatives taken by HIPA to introduce innovators from different fields which had contributed to the development of society and were nominated or awarded by the government. He also released a report on District Governance Indices prepared by the Department of Administrative Reforms.
