Hamirpur witnesses 69.51% turnout

HAMIRPUR: The district witnessed 69.51 per cent voting in five segments — Bhoranj, Sujanpur, Hamirpur, Barsar and Nadaun.

The district witnessed 69.51 per cent voting in five segments — Bhoranj, Sujanpur, Hamirpur, Barsar and Nadaun. The highest polling — 71.98 per cent — was recorded in Nadaun followed by Sujanpur (70.28 per cent), Barsar (70.01 per cent), Hamirpur (69.11 per cent) and Bhoranj (65.88 per cent).Out of the 3,754,39 registered voters, 2,60,992 exercised their franchise in the five constituencies. Women voters outnumbered men in the district as 31,684 more women cast their votes. There are 1,916,57 women voters. In Nadaun, 79.66 per cent women cast their vote, while only 64.15 per cent men turned up. The lowest turnout was in Bhoranj, where only 58.91 per cent men cast their vote. — OC
