Hisar resident held in murder case

Solan, July 3

With the arrest of Krishan Kumar (48) from Delhi  last evening, the police claim to have solved the murder case of a labourer reported in February.

SP,  Sirmaur, Ajay Krishan Sharma, said  Krishan Kumar had plotted his death in  a car accident in order to grab an insurance amount of about Rs 6 crore.

Hailing from Hisar in Haryana, Krishan Kumar was under huge debt and to  grab the amount, he  killed a labourer, who was working with him, by slitting his neck with a knife. He bundled  the body in a car and pushed it into a gorge at Dhanda Pagar village in Sataun to make it look like an accident.

A recce was conducted by Kumar before he executed his plan. He had also  spilled his blood on the road to hoodwink the police. He, however, failed to set the car ablaze and destroy all evidence pertaining to the identity.

The police initially believed it to be a case of car accident but an in-depth investigation led them to believe that it was a deep-rooted conspiracy.

The SP said his elder brother had said the body did not belong to Krishan Kumar. He had failed to claim the insurance money as his body could not be recognised.

The police, thereafter, started  chasing him and he had travelled to various places before being nabbed by the police from Delhi. — TNS
