IG Zaidi on parole for Eid

A CBI special court on Monday granted parole to IG ZH Zaidi and head constable Mohammad Rafiq (two of the nine accused in the Kotkhai custodial death case) for Eid but rejected the plea of Surat Singh who had sought parole to attend the “dharamshanti” of his paternal uncle.

Eight police personnel, including were arrested on August 29, 2017, while SP DW Negi was arrested on November 16 last year. Suraj, an accused in the Kotkhai rape and murder case was killed at the Kotkhai police station on the night of July 18.
