Kangra health centre to be shifted to new building in Oct

KANGRA: The Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Janyankhad will start functioning from a new building constructed at a cost of Rs 17 lakh from October.

The Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Janyankhad will start functioning from a new building constructed at a cost of Rs 17 lakh from October.

The Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) at its meeting asked the government to inaugurate the new building immediately.

Pawan Kajal, local MLA, said this on Saturday at a meeting of the samiti. Kajal said the Primary Health Centre was functioning in the Mehla Mandal building and the urgency was to shift it to the new building.

The RKS had approved the budget of Rs 3.75 lakh for the PHC-Takipur for different development works and also approved the budget of Rs 4.64 lakh for the PHC-Janyankhad.

Kajal said ‘’108’’ ambulance facilities which were not available at Takipur would be restored within a fortnight.

Dr Sneh Sood, Block Medical Officer, Tiara, said at the PHC-Takipur, there were only two doctors whereas at Janyankhad, there was only one doctor posted. She said the work on the PHC-Rajal building was almost nearing completion.

The meeting was attended by Takipur panchayat pradan Suman Kumar, Dr Neha Minhas, Dr Ankush Kapoor, BDC member Vikrama Devi and other representatives of different departments.
