Missing youth’s body found floating in Beas

The body of a youth, who had been missing since March 22, was found floating in the Beas on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Anjani Rana, a resident of Mandi district.

The victim allegedly had a tiff with the conductor of the bus he was travelling in on March 22. He alighted midway and since then his cellphone was also switched off.

Mandi SP Gurdev Chand Sharma said prima facie, it seemed that he died due to drowning. There was also an injury mark on his head. However, the actual cause of the death would be ascertained only after the post-mortem report. A case had been registered and further probe was on. — TNS
