Two MBBS students slit wrists in Tanda

KANGRA: Two MBBS first-year students of Dr Rajinder Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, inflicted injuries on their wrists while trying to cut their veins on Thursday evening.

Two MBBS first-year students of Dr Rajinder Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, inflicted injuries on their wrists while trying to cut their veins on Thursday evening. The duo reportedly had an altercation on mobile phone after which they took the extreme step. The police are investigating.

DIG Santosh Patial, who has the charge of Kangra SSP, on Friday said a boy and a girl studying in the Tanda medical college had reportedly slit their wrists in their hostel rooms on Thursday evening. They were rushed to a hospital by other students.

The DIG said they were recording statements of the two students, other students, parents etc.

College Principal Bhanu Awasthi confirmed the incident and said both the students belonged to Kullu and were under treatment. He said their parents were called on Friday. — OC
