Sanjay Kundu promoted to rank of DGP

SHIMLA: The government has promoted 1989 batch IPS officer Sanjay Kundu from Additional Director General to Director General of Police (DGP) rank.



Shimla, February 17

The government has promoted 1989 batch IPS officer Sanjay Kundu from Additional Director General to Director General of Police (DGP) rank.

Kundu is presently posted as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Principal Secretary (Vigilance). He is also holding the charge of Principal Resident Commissioner, New Delhi. The promotion has been done on the recommendation of the Screening Committee.

The government also promoted Dr Atul Digambar Fulzele, posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) North range at Dharamsala to the post of Inspector general (IG) of Police. A 2001 IPS officer Punita Bhardwaj, DIG (Tourism, Traffic and railways), has also been promoted as IG. However, their new postings are yet to be done.

Others who have been promoted to the rank of the DIG include 2005 IPS officer Sumedha, posted in National Human Rights Commission on proforma basis, Kangra SP Santosh Patial (IPS 2005) and Commandant of the 4th India Reserve Battalion (IRB) Sunil Kumar (IPS 2005)

Four other IPS officers of the 2006 batch- Ashok Kumar, Abhishek Dullar, Madhu Sudan and Rani Bindu have been given selection grade by the Screening Committee. — TNS
