SRINAGAR: A 10-year-old boy was killed and two others injured when some explosive device went off in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir today, the police said.

A 10-year-old boy was killed and two others injured when some explosive device went off in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir today, the police said.

Adil Ahmad Reshi died on the spot in the explosion which took place when he and his friends were playing in a field at village Baba Saluina in Mansbal area, 30 km from here, a police officer said.

He said two other boys were also injured in the blast and were immediately taken to hospital.

The officer said it was premature to say whether the explosion was caused by an abandoned grenade or an explosive shell.

“We have registered a case and investigations are on,” he said. — PTI
