Grand ‘shobha yatra’ on eve of Janmashtami

JAMMU: Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha Geeta Bhawan will take out a grand shobha yatra (religious procession) on the eve of Janmashtami tomorrow.

Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha Geeta Bhawan will take out a grand shobha yatra (religious procession) on the eve of Janmashtami tomorrow.

Talking to reporters here, Bodh Raj Sharma, president of the sabha, said 30 tableaus would participate in the yatra starting from Geeta Bhawan, Parade, at 3.30 pm. “The main attraction of the yatra will be the display of yoga by students of Delhi Public School and a gajraj (elephant)-mounted tableau. The yatra will proceed from Geeta Bhawan and pass through Shalamar, Indira Chowk, Hari Market and reach the historical Ragunath Temple where the ceremonial pooja will be performed,” he said.

From Ragunath Mandir Chowk, the yatra will proceed towards Veer Marg, Ragunath Bazar and will culminate at Ragunath Temple. — TNS
