Lal Singh takes stock of damage due to short-circuit at hospital

JAMMU: Minister for Health and Medical Education Choudhary Lal Singh today visited the Super Speciality Hospital (SSH), Jammu, to take stock of the damages caused due to a short-circuit.

Minister for Health and Medical Education Choudhary Lal Singh today visited the Super Speciality Hospital (SSH), Jammu, to take stock of the damages caused due to a short-circuit.

The minister enquired about the incident from the hospital administration and directed the Principal, Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, to take up the matter with the executing agency, Central Public Works Department (CPWD), for immediate installation of fresh batteries of the UPS in the hospital to avoid inconvenience to the patients.

Administrator, GMC, Babila Rakhwal told the minister that various allied services of the hospital like fire hydrant system, CCTV cameras, telephone exchange, water pump, DG sets and electric substation, AC plant lifts and gas pipe line had not been handed over officially by the CPWD to the hospital, despite repeated reminders. Taking a serious note of the issue, Choudhary Lal Singh directed the hospital administration to approach the CPWD for taking over the hospital building officially after ensuring all allied services were provided.

The Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu, was constructed under the Pradhanmantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) at an estimated cost of Rs 120 crore.
