The National Conference on Wednesday exuded confidence about forming a stable, strong and people-friendly next government in Jammu and Kashmir on its own.

The party said, “the biggest challenge for it would be to address the political aspirations of the people of all three regions, reviving developmental activities and generating jobs for youth.”

“The NC is the only party having its presence in all regions of the state,” Ali Mohammed Sagar, general secretary of the party, said while addressing workers of the Nowshera and Kalakote Assembly constituencies at Sunderbani, during the first leg of the two-day tour of Rajouri and Poonch districts.

Accompanied by party’s provincial president Devender Singh Rana, Sagar referred to the recent NC win on all three parliamentary seats it contested in the Kashmir valley and exuded confidence that the party would emerge victorious in the Assembly elections.

He recalled the performance of the party in the 1996 Assembly elections when the NC bagged 57 seats in the state, 17 in the Jammu region.
