Pakistani Rangers continued to violate ceasefire agreement on the third straight day on Thursday by targeting the Satpal post of the Manyari border outpost on the international border in the district.

The Border Security Force (BSF) retaliated effectively. No loss of life or any damage to property has been reported.

“At 10.15 am, Pakistani Rangers opened fire on the Satpal post of Manyari and fired three to four mortar shells. Thereafter, intermittent firing of small arms towards Manyari in the Hiranagar sector continued. About 4.50 pm, Pakistani Rangers again started heavy firing on the Manyari post,” officials said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Raghav Langer also visited the Manyari village and met border residents. He also issued direction to the executing agency building bundh along the border to take necessary precautions while doing work.

The work of ditch at the Manyari post is going on and Pakistani Rangers have been trying their best to stop the work on the border.
