The Sampoorn Kashmir Sanghattan (SKS) has welcomed the decision of the Union Government of proposing the name of Ram Nath Kovind for the post of President of India.
In a statement, the SKS, a displaced Kashmiri Pandits’ organisation, said the announcement was a positive step as it would give representation to weaker sections of society. “This will not only encourage the aspirations and enthusiasm of the deprived communities but will also send a strong message to the world community that the Indian Constitution does not discriminate,” said Anoop Kaul, chairman of the orgnisation.
Kaul was addressing a meeting of the organisation members and took stock of the present social and political situation in the state vis-à-vis displaced Kashmiri Pandits. Organisation president Rakesh Kaul was also present on the occasion.
