Soldier, 3 LeT militants killed in Handwara in north Kashmir

SRINAGAR: An Indian Army soldier was killed and three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were gunned down on Tuesday in a gunbattle with security forces in Handwara area of Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, November 21

An Indian Army soldier was killed and three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were gunned down on Tuesday in a gunbattle with security forces in Handwara area of Jammu and Kashmir.

Two Army jawans were also injured in the gunfight.

Security forces launched a search operation at Magam in Handwara area of Kupwara District in north Kashmir following information about presence of militants there, a police official said.

He said three Lashkar militants have been killed.

The operation was going on when reports last came in. —with PTI inputs
