The BJP leaders from the district have expressed condolence over the demise of former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today.

The party leaders remembered his visits to Jalandhar almost every year during various political events and rallies and his role in strengthening the party.

Former minister Punjab and former state president BJP Punjab Manoranjan Kalia expressed shock and grief to the departed soul.

He wrote a condolence message for him: “He was a multifaceted personality, being a leading advocate, “Chanakya” of the party, a master strategist, eloquent orator and had a heartful of human kindness.”

“He brooked an Akali-BJP alliance in 2007 and played an important role as an in charge of Punjab BJP in bringing Akali-BJP alliance into power. His demise has left a void in political arena. May God grant peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear irreparable loss,” he added.

Ex-Mayor Rakesh Rathour and Ex-MLA KD Bhandari also posted their old pictures with Jaitley of their meetings with him and offered their condolences.
