PHAGWARA: Banks are still struggling to manage huge rush of people thronging branches in Phagwara and its surroundings to exchange invalid currency notes and get cash to meet their daily needs.

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya and Lesley University have entered into a historic agreement by signing an MoU to create a sustainable international education partnership. While addressing the media on Thursday, KMV Principal Atima Sharma Dwivedi said the institute wanted to provide international exposure and opportunities to students for success at national and international levels. Cooperation and collaboration shall be carried out through student exchange and admissions, faculty exchange, joint research activities and publications, exchange of academic materials and other Information, interactive participation in joint conferences and seminars through visits and video conferencing. A glorious highlight of the MOU is that it is the first of its kind agreement signed by any educational institution in the region with Lesley University, USA, the principal said and added that the partnership was fourth in the series of international collaborations and partnerships of KMV.

Nobel School starts sports activities

Nobel School started various sports activities to boost the immunity level of students and make them fit. While PT exercises are conducted in the morning assembly students indulge in various sports activities in the last two periods like relay race, backrace, sack race, badminton , skating, basketball, cricket and other sports activities which refresh their mind from the whole day's fatigue. Students are learning various sports activities under the guidance of the sports incharge Sanjay Thakur.

Inter-school meet held

St Soldier College organised an inter-school meet "IMPULSE 16", in which rangoli, poster making, poem recitation, choreography, folk songs and declamation competitions were conducted in which 18 schools and nearly 200 students participated and won prizes. DCP Sandeep Sharma, ACP Deepika Singh, Dinesh Aulakh (Speed Records) were the chief guests in the programme. Punjabi folk singer Manna Mand and comedian Jassi Kochar and Ravi Darra entertained the audience. Winners were honoured with trophies and certificates.
