Jalandhar, December 18

A patwari posted in Banga was held red-handed by a Vigilance team while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

The accused has been identified as Amardeep Singh.

Tajinder Singh of Gobindpur village had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Bureau that the accused had demanded Rs 20,000 in lieu of registering an ancestral land in his name. After the complaint, the team laid a trap and arrested Amardeep.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him.
