Ravleen Kaur tops ICSE X with 97.33%

JALANDHAR: Ravleen Kaur Cheema of St Joseph’s Convent School, Cantonment Road, has topped in Class X in the district by scoring 97.33 per cent marks in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination whose result was declared this afternoon.

Ravleen Kaur Cheema of St Joseph’s Convent School, Cantonment Road, has topped in Class X in the district by scoring 97.33 per cent marks in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination whose result was declared this afternoon. She has obtained 584 marks out of 600, bagging a perfect 100 in computer education subject.

Students of St Joseph’s Convent School have this time given a better result than previous year when the school had the highest score of 96.2 per cent.

Ravleen Kaur said her father, who is a government officer, is an inspiration to her. She has decided to opt for the medical stream in Class XII and plans to take the Civil Services examination also. Fond of writing, she has been a winner of an all-India competition in creative writing held last year.

Sachi Juneja of the same school has got the second position, trailing her by just one mark. Vaibhav Makkar and Raman Arora of the school got the third joint position with 96.8 per cent aggregate. Ashrey Jairath and Shashwat Mishra from the same school have got 95.8 per cent and 95 per cent marks, respectively.

There were around 10 more girls who had scored more than 95 per cent marks with a marginal difference. They include Tania Malhotra achieving 96.83 per cent, Bhavya Mohan with 96.33 per cent, Jahanvi Kumar, Navya Aggarwal and Ridhvi Mehta with 95.83 per cent and Kanishka Jindal, Poorvika Khanna and Srishti Khurana with 95.67 per cent. 

Class XII rankers

Jot Parkash Singh Arora of St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Defence Colony, has obtained 89.75 per cent marks in the ICSE Class XII results, the highest score in the district. He is from the commerce stream and has scored 359 marks out of a total of 400. Other achievers include Anmol Jasra of the non-medical stream and Harman Preet Kaur of the medical stream, attaining 84.25 per cent and 77 per cent, respectively. The trio is from the same school.

Jot Prakash Singh said he did not take tuitions. “There was no hard and strict schedule that I followed. I only used to study late night each day and a bit more during exams day,” he said. He said he planned to study B.Com from a reputed college.

Medical topper

Harman Preet Kaur bagged the first position with 77%marks. She has appeared in the NEET exam and is waiting for the results. She is a national-level declamation contest winner. Anmol Suman and Reachal Masih of the same school got second and third positions in the district. 

Non-medical topper

The non-medical topper is Anmol Basra who secured 84.25 per cent and wants to be computer engineer. His father is a computer programmer. Anmol wishes to pursue B.Tech and become a successful person in the field of electronics and communication engineering. He is fond of basketball and managed his routine properly in order to keep balance between sports and studies. The second and third positions were clinched by Aniket Kumar with 84 per cent and Ashav Kumar with 64.75 per cent marks.
