Sena’s state vice-president Rajesh Palta and spokesman Vipin Sharma said stringent legal provisions for protecting cows was the answer to the problem, not the “wayward, aggressive and provocative behaviour” of certain ‘gau sevaks’ (cow protectors), who thrash people from a particular community and upload videos of their “stunts” on the social media. They said certain self-styled cow protectors had made ‘gau seva’ (cow protection) their means of livelihood and a source of minting money.
