Students show talent in singing contest

JALANDHAR: CT Group of Institutions oganised a singing contest ‘Jalandhar Singing Star’ in collaboration with Bollywood Music Academy at CT World School here today.

CT Group of Institutions oganised a singing contest ‘Jalandhar Singing Star’ in collaboration with Bollywood Music Academy at CT World School here today.

A total of 93 contestants from different cities, including Una, Mandi, Moga, Nawashahar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Bathinda, Bhogpur and Jalandhar gave the auditions and 21 contestants were shortlisted who competed in the finale of the event.

The contestants were put under three different age categories (6-12 years, 12-18 years and 18- 32 years.)

Singers Mangi Mahal, Ginni Mahi and Baldev Aujla were the guests of honour on the occasion.

The competition was adjudged by renowned personalities from music industry Monu Kumar, Assistant Professor of Music, folk singer and judgement panelist for many national-level music competitions Dalwinder Dayalpuri along with Inderbir Singh, AIG, Cyber Crime, Punjab.

Results: In 6-12 category: Yuvraj Singh bagged the first position. Pavni Arora remained second and Danish Sahi and Anik Puri bagged the third position.

In 12-18 category: Harjinder Singh pocketed the first position. Abhijeet clinched the second position and Saurav remained third.

In 18-32 category: The first prize was bagged by Sapna, Gandharav got the second position and Lovepreet remained third.

The first position holders of each category have got a golden ticket to record their song with Bollywood Music Academy.

Manbir Singh, managing director, CT Group of Institutions congratulated the winners.
