Take benefit of pro-poor schemes: Lok Sabha MP

SHAHKOT:Lok Sabha MP from Jalandhar Chaudhary Santokh Singh said mega camps organised by the Punjab Government under the Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY) have been able to provide benefits related to the government schemes to people at their doorsteps.

Shahkot, January 20

Lok Sabha MP from Jalandhar Chaudhary Santokh Singh said mega camps organised by the Punjab Government under the Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY) have been able to provide benefits related to the government schemes to people at their doorsteps.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a district-level mega camp under the MGSVY here today, the MP said the camps were effective for providing a single platform to address grievances of residents.

He said the objective behind organising these camps was to ensure that needy people can benefits of pro-poor schemes.

The MP added that the camp aims to provide holistic development to all sections of society, besides ensuring social justice and equality by improving the standard of living in rural areas.

He said the MGSVY scheme was a step forward towards ensuring inclusive development and providing equitable access to benefits of all socio-economic development schemes to the needy.

Jalandhar Additional Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal and Sub- Divisional Magistrate Navneet Kaur Bal apprised people about salient features of the MGSVY and exhorted them to take maximum benefits of the scheme.
