Students interested in taking admission in Government College, East, should keep their certificates in place as the admission process for the college starts from June 10.

The responsibility of the admission process for the co-ed Government College, East, has been handed to the principal of SCD Government College, Dr Dharam Singh Sandhu. Since the building of Government College, East, has not been completed yet, the classes are being held at SCD Government College.

Students interested in seeking admission can apply online at www.gcldheast.org. This will be the second session of the college and like the first session, students will be able to get admission only in Bachelor of Arts (BA), for which there are only 70 seats available.

Apart from compulsory subjects such as English and Punjabi, students can also opt for political science, economics and history. Although it was expected that from this year other graduation courses such BSc, BCom, BBA and BCA will be started, but now it seems that more streams would be added next year.

With the college building yet to be completed, it is most likely that like the past year, the classes for the upcoming session will also be held at SCD Government College only. Students can apply online till July 5.
