LUDHIANA: Three-day 21st edition of the Punjab State Special Olympics organised by the District Special Olympics Association, Ludhiana, concluded today at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar.

Ludhiana, December 9

Three-day 21st edition of the Punjab State Special Olympics organised by the District Special Olympics Association, Ludhiana, concluded today at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar.

A large number of participants with intellectual disabilities participated in the event.

Participants from Ambuja Manovikas Kendra, Ropar, secured maximum points in the individual and team events to bag an overall trophy while players from St Joseph School, Jalandhar, finished as runners-up.

Ludhiana Member of Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu, Cabinet Minister Civil and Food Supplies Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, and senior deputy mayor Sham Sunder Malhotra, visited the the venue to encourage special athletes.

The final day also witnessed dignitaries, including Shammi Bansal, Director, Liberty Shoes, Samreeti Sood from Knit and Blends, Dr VN Sood, Sham Lal Sapra and Girdhari Lal Bassi among others. They appreciated the organisers and school authorities for shouldering the responsibility of conducting this event.

Bansal sponsored sports shoes for all the participants while Manoj Seth, Anuj Seth and Navin Seth from Versatile Enterprises sponsored floor-ball equipment to the winners.
