Ludhiana: The traffic police organised a campaign to motivate residents to follow traffic rules. Residents following traffic rules and those who were wearing helmets and had seat-belts on received appreciation from the traffic police officials.

ACP (Traffic) Gurdev Singh said the campaign was carried out not only for celebrating Independence Day, but to appreciate the law-abiding residents who were following traffic rules. The residents were given a Tricolour flag and a booklet of dos and don’ts regarding traffic rules. He said even those who were not wearing helmets were stopped and given traffic rules’ booklet to encourage them to follow traffic rules. It was a positive message to tell residents that following traffic rules was not only good for their own self, but for the overall traffic system. They were told that if everyone starts understanding their responsibility to follow traffic rules, it would make the whole system better, he said. TNS
