Khanna: The police today claimed to have arrested a BTech student of Lovely University and recovered 3 kg of ‘ganja’ from his possession. He has been identified as Srichand Jagyanti, a native of Andhra Pradesh.

The police today claimed to have arrested a BTech student of Lovely University and recovered 3 kg of ‘ganja’ from his possession. He has been identified as Srichand Jagyanti, a native of Andhra Pradesh.

Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said the policemen manning a hi-tech naka on GT Road, Doraha, got suspicious when they saw a person coming from the bus stand side taking a U-turn. The police stopped him and searched his belongings. The police recovered 3 kg of ganja from his possession. 

The SSP said during preliminary questioning, Srichand said he had brought the contraband from Andhra Pradesh and was going to supply it to his clients at the university. A case under Section 20/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against him at the Doraha police station. 

The SSP said Srichand was a student of BTech final year.
