Ludhiana, July 12

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has rescued a 100-year-old woman, who was locked in a house at Gujjaranwal village for the past 10 days by none other than her daughter. The woman, Karishna was reunited with her son, who lived in the same village.

Sessions Judge-cum-chairman of DLSA Gurbir Singh said Karishna was living at the village with her daughter. She left home after locking the door. The woman was being fed by Good Samaritans through window.

A social activist, Gurpreet Singh, brought the matter to the notice of the DLSA. After the woman was rescued, the CJM, Dr Gurpreet Karu, got to know that her son, Gopal, was also living in the same village but they were not on talking terms. After much persuasion, the woman was shifted to her son’s house.

Meanwhile, the daughter was also called there. She claimed that she had to go out for treatment of her husband.
