A delegation under the chairmanship of Gurmeet Singh Kular, president, Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisation (FICO) met Vijay Sampla, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment on Wednesday.

They sought release of payment from a leading Haryana-based cycle industrialist to the tune of Rs 80 crores.

Gurmeet Singh Kular said they were least bothered about the payment of the Bicycle Parts Manufacturers as there were small manufacturers who have blocked their payment for the last 4 to 5 years.

“We will also meet and ask Harsimrat Kaur Badal and all the MPs from Punjab to take up the issue with Chief Minister of Haryana to intervene for getting the payment released,” said Gurmeet Singh Kular.

As per the The micro, small and medium enterprises development act (MSME) Act, large industry can not delay payment for more than 45 days to small scale industry. However, in the case mentioned above, the Act has been violated, alleged Gurmeet Singh Kular.

Members who had cheques in hand, filed a case under Section 138.

As a result Atlas released their payment.
