LUDHIANA:A get together of the All-India ex-ITBPF Personnel Welfare Association (AIEPWA) was held on the ITBP campus, Badhowal, today.

A get together of the All-India ex-ITBPF Personnel Welfare Association (AIEPWA) was held on the ITBP campus, Badhowal, today.

The president of AIEPWA, ITBP Inspector General (retd) MS Bhurji, presided over the meeting. General secretary of the association Inspector General (retd) S Kabul Singh Bajwa and Mohinder Singh, Commandant (retd), ITBP, who is also a renowned climber and mountaineer award winner, were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, MS Bhurji said AIEPWA had become a melting pot of ideas and endeavours to ameliorate the status and honouor of veterans Himveers, and to channelise their intellect and expertise in the service of the nation.

Commandant Mohinder Singh said they had planned to go to Punjab villages to extend humanity services for disabled, bedridden, widows and community which were restrained due to old age and lack of awareness about pensioners’ rights.

Treasurer Harpal Singh talked about how retired veterans could contribute towards national building and welfare of their brethren and dependents. One of the oldest members of the association, Deputy Commandant (retd) Mehal Singh, who joined ITBP in 1962, was also felicitated at the occasion.
